Criminal Law
Charged, or expecting to be? Get advice early. It can change the outcome.
The sooner you get legal advice, the more options you have. Delay can make a conviction, or even imprisonment, more likely, and either can affect your job prospects and your ability to travel for years to come.
We appear in all courts in South Australia, including the Magistrates Court, District Court, Supreme Court and Youth Court, and can also appear interstate. We handle bail applications, guilty pleas, trials and appeals.
How we work
We look closely at the evidence and the way police handled your matter
We negotiate with Police Prosecutions and the Director of Public Prosecutions. Many matters are resolved without a long court process, and charges are sometimes withdrawn
Where needed, we brief Adelaide's leading criminal barristers, including King's Counsel and Senior Counsel

Common questions
What should I do if I've been charged with a criminal offence?
Get legal advice as soon as possible, before your first court date. Early advice gives you the most options, including negotiating the charges or applying for bail.
Do I have to answer police questions?
Generally, no. You have the right to remain silent in a police interview, but you must answer some questions by law, such as who was driving a vehicle. Call us before you answer any questions.
Which courts do you appear in?
We appear in all courts in South Australia, including the Magistrates Court, District Court, Supreme Court, Youth Court and SACAT. We can also appear interstate.
