Going to Court

What to expect on the day of your hearing.

Going to court can feel daunting, especially for the first time. Here's what to do on the day.

  1. Check your paperwork. Your Summons, Information or Bail Agreement shows the date, time and court you need to attend.

  2. Find the court. Not sure where it is? Look up the address on the Courts Administration Authority website: SA court locations.

  3. Find your courtroom. From 6pm the day before your hearing, check the online court list to see your courtroom and the Magistrate or Judge. You can also check the notice board at court, usually near security: criminal court lists.

  4. Go through security. Allow extra time. Everyone entering the court goes through a security check.

  5. Can't find your matter? If your matter isn't on the online list or the notice board, call us straight away.

  6. Let the Sheriff's Officer know you're here. Go to your courtroom and tell the Sheriff's Officer you've arrived and that you're represented by McDonough Cole Legal.
